Situation · Living with STAR
What kind of theory is this?
Start with what feels familiar in this moment, then separate what happened, what it meant, and what can still be checked.
Why you may be here
You may recognize part of your own life in this scene. Start with what feels familiar before adding theory language.
What to hold open
A similar feeling does not prove the same cause. Intensity is real, but it is not automatic evidence.
Begin with what can be observed or directly reported now.
Memory, expectation, body state, records, and other people may be carrying part of the moment.
Direct evidence and another person’s perspective may change the picture.
A framework earns standing by saying what kind of claim it is making.
STAR is not a theory that external reality is produced by thought. It is not a model of the brain at the level of neurons. It is not a diagnostic system, a treatment protocol, a spiritual cosmology, or a claim that every human problem can be solved by interpretation. It is a grounded theory of lived reconstruction.
It proposes that human experience is assembled from active signals and retrievable traces under a query structure that orients, selects, weights, and frames. The resulting render supports interpretation and action. Action creates new traces. Those traces re-enter the archive.
Throughout the loop, checkpoints constrain what the render can responsibly claim, while co-renderers, institutions, technologies, and power shape what becomes available and authoritative. The model is broad because it tracks a process that appears across memory, identity, relationships, organizations, media, and digital systems.
Broad does not mean total.
A map of circulation is not a map of every organ.
