Later that afternoon, Morgan asks an AI assistant connected to the organization's documents a practical question:
What did the team decide about the March launch?
The answer arrives in six seconds.
It is fluent, tidy, and mostly supported. The assistant cites two meeting summaries and three email threads. It says the team agreed to proceed with a reduced feature set, with Morgan responsible for the revised schedule.
The answer sounds settled, but the underlying record is not.
One person objected during a phone call that was never transcribed. A risk note sits in an attachment the system did not index. The phrase agreed to proceed comes from a meeting summary written by the person who most wanted agreement. Morgan had accepted responsibility for drafting options, not for owning the final schedule.
The assistant has not invented the answer from nothing. That would be easier to notice. It has selected real traces, compressed disagreement, assigned weight, and returned a coherent version in the grammar of certainty. Morgan pastes two sentences into a briefing document.
