What this does not prove
A useful question can widen the field. It does not guarantee a single correct answer.
I call this framework the Structured Theory of Archived Reconstruction, or STAR. The name matters less than the discipline it organizes.
We begin close to the skin: how events, signals, traces, and questions become a lived world. Then we follow that process through memory, body, identity, relationship, and forgetting. From there the book moves outward into rooms, institutions, propaganda, coercion, and the politics of who gets to make a record count.
Finally, it enters the active archive: feeds, search, AI systems, and synthetic evidence. It returns with practical ways to inspect a charged render without pretending that perfect objectivity is available.
By the end of the book, I hope three questions have become easier to hear:
What question am I answering?
What entered the render?
What must this story still answer to?
