What this page is for
This question is meant to be investigated, not answered with a slogan. The book passage below keeps the uncertainty visible.
What this does not prove
A useful question can widen the field. It does not guarantee a single correct answer.
A render is not a failed photograph of reality. It is a working construction built for action from partial access. It can be skilled, reckless, generous, frightened, commercially shaped, socially rewarded, and factually disciplined in different combinations. The ability to revise it should not be treated as evidence that the person was foolish to have one.
Aiden can accept that the laughter was unrelated without denying that public vulnerability gave it force. Mara can trust the pattern without claiming omniscience. Morgan can feel the sting of Ava's exit and still allow illness into the room. Marisol can act on a faint signal and later submit the decision to inspection.
The render deserves dignity.
The interpretation owes an account.
We do not need to choose between telling people their experience is unreal and treating every story produced by experience as fact. We can recognize the world as lived, identify the claims made from it, and ask what those claims must still answer to. A render can be treated with dignity without being granted the last word. The next question is what the story must still answer to.
