Digital archive
Understand digital archive in ordinary language first. The exact definition and manuscript source follow below.
In ordinary words
Searchable data, platform histories, logs, feeds, modeled preferences, automated summaries, and AI-mediated retrieval. It can be dense, persistent, privately governed, corrigible, and forgeable.
What this does not prove
Use this as a handle for noticing a pattern, not as a label that settles a person or event.
After Ava's mother explains that Ava is sick, Morgan can revisit the moment without pretending the first render never occurred.
Orientation: I arrived wanting connection and protecting against exclusion.
Selection: I noticed Ava's exit, earbud, and missed greeting. I barely registered her color, the blanket on the sofa, or her mother's ease with me.
Weighting: Last summer gave the exit disproportionate force. That weight was relevant but not decisive.
Framing: I organized the moment as evidence that the conflict had spread to Ava.
Checkpoint: Her mother's explanation fits visible signals I omitted. Ava can answer for herself later. The larger family concern remains open.
Action: Do not confront the room. Check on Ava. Preserve the broader question without making this moment prove it.
